Even though Bali has many beaches, sometimes you just don’t want sand and salt in your hair (or anywhere else for that matter). But not everybody can afford a beautiful villa with a private pool, or the expensive entry fees at the fancy beach clubs. Luckily, there are some very nice cafe/restaurants in Canggu with a pool! Imagine having a proper espresso, mouth watering smoothiebowl AND a pool all in the same spot. After swimming and tanning you order some avo on toast for lunch, maybe a cocktail even, all the while continuing your chill day by the pool. Actually, I can’t believe there aren’t more restaurants in Canggu with a pool!
I wanted to seperate the beach clubs with a pool, from the restaurant/cafés with a pool. So I dove right into all the best spots in Canggu to find out exactly where to go for a relaxing day that doesn’t have to cost much!
Cabina – BEST RESTAURANTs IN CANGGU WITH A POOL
Cabina is best known for it’s floating brunch, and well… look at it. You can see why. They have three options for the floating brunch, ranging from ‘small and simple’ (pictured above) to large and extravagant. You can choose several sweet and savory dishes, a mocktail and tea or coffee, and they ‘push’ the tray towards you while you relax in the pool. It’s a bit pricey, but totally worth it. Just be careful not to spend too much time on taking pictures, or else you’ll have cold pancakes!
Jl. Batu Belig Gg. Daksina No.1, Kerobokan
Panama Kitchen & Bar is at walking distance from Berawa Beach and Finn’s Beach club. It has an alluring mediterranean vibe with square white houses, palm trees, a grass area and sunbeds around the pool. You can chill here all day long, and they often have themed specials like latin parties and the Monday movie club. Also: try the espresso martini!
Jl. Pantai Berawa No.13
Loop Pool Bar & Restaurant
On the busy Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong, Pool is like a sanctuary. It’s infinity pool and terrace look out over the rice fields and lush green surroundings. There are sunbeds on the wooden deck around the pool, and tables underneath the bamboo structured restaurant cover. Loop is part of Theanna Eco Villa & Spa in case you can’t find the sign for Loop.
Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.25C
I love the way they’ve decorated this place! The pool is quite big, and there are many different seating options and sunbeds. I love the corner next to the entrance, with the bamboo sofa and a swing! They serve an entirely organic menu (mostly locally grown ingredients), with a lot of vegan options as well. The Tiramisu Pancakes are to die for! But the local food is very good here as well. This place is attached to The Chillhouse where they offer daily yoga and meditation classes, so this is a one stop place to spend an entire day.
Jl. Kubu Manyar No.22
This is a bit of hidden gem apparently, because it ‘s never very busy. I don’t get why, because they have a big green garden with a view of the ricefields, a big pool to cool off and the prettiest toilets (just so you know…). The food is great as well! Perfect spot to get away from the business of Canggu.
Jl. Pantai Berawa No. 9091
Jl. Pantai Pererenan No. 156
This cute restaurant is located in the east of Berawa, tucked away from the road. It’s like a hidden paradise, very green and cozy and the pool is quite big. They serve healthy food and juices and you can sit either at a table, a big picnic table or a comfortable sofa. Pomelo is attached to a spa, so if you’re looking to relax for a day, this is your spot.
